Donwload Ubuntu and Kubuntu Gutsy Gibbon from usenet.
If you haven’t downloaded Ubuntu or Kubuntu’s new Gutsy Gibbon release because of the download rush or just because you can’t or won’t download through ftp or http, there’s allways the usenet.
Over the last few days the Ubuntu iso images have been posted in various usenet binary groups, most notably alt.binaries.cd.image and alt.binaries.ftd.
Not every single possible Ubuntu variant is there but if you want the standard desktop release, the alternate installation release or the server release in both 32 and 64 bits as well as the Kubuntu desktop, those are available –Kubuntu is in another group, alt.binaries.warez.linux. Just in case: Kubuntu is Ubuntu with KDE instead of Gnome and the server installator do not install a GUI.
Those posts are about four days old at the time this text is being typed and if you have a really good usenet service, such as Giganews, you have 200 days before the posts are lost.
Happy download.
